Welcome to the CUP Appeal Process. 

The Appeals Committee is composed of two Pros and a club manager.  In reviewing applications, the Appeals Committee seeks to ensure the player's success and enjoyment in the CUP program.  They also ensure the SACT mission for play is upheld as described in CUP guidelines.  

• The Appeals Committee will review the application based on information supplied by the player on the Appeal Form.

APPEAL APPLICATIONS DUE MAY 15TH

If you are a player applying to a level higher than your current level or you do not meet the required USTA level, the following are the key considerations evaluated by the Appeals Committee:      

You must meet at least TWO criteria:

• Player played a majority of matches on court 1, except for extenuating circumstances.
• Player appealing has demonstrated success at the next level through subbing up, current USTA record, tournament, etc.
• Player has a 65% winning record on court 1 and had an overall 65% winning record in the season. 

If you are a player applying to stay at level with less than a 35% winning percentage, the following are the key considerations evaluated by the Appeals Committee:

• Player demonstrated success at this level through current USTA record/Tournament results at like level.
• Player has extenuating circumstances (example injury), a mid-season change in USTA rating, played a high court number, their opponent's strength, had a minimum of four matches.
• Player makes an effort to be a team player and offers her services the entire season as needed. 
• An Example: In Rainier Cup, you don't need to appeal if you are a 3.5 USTA rated player as you would be able to remain at Rainier level even if your percentage drops below 35%.
