Weekly Tennis Programs
Central Park offers 6 weekly tennis programs throughout the year. These programs are a great way to play with like-level players that you might not meet by booking your own court. With the variety of options, you can find some good tennis and a chance to socialize with fellow members.
Men’s Night – This is on Mondays at 5:30pm-7:00pm. We take up to 28 men, all different levels. One of our pros will then match up the players based on like levels, usually in doubles, to create fun and competitive matches. Each week we take the results so that the participants can move through the levels and get to experience play with different players the following week.
Women’s Night – (On Hiatus). This program is on Tuesdays at 7:00pm-8:30pm. We take up to 12 players, all different levels and usually doubles matches. A pro will then match up players based on levels to create a fun night of tennis.
Women’s Team – This is a weekly program but unlike the others in this list, you sign up for a session of weeks (anywhere from 6-8 weeks long). This program is on Wednesdays from 10:00am – 11:30am. You sign up with a partner or as a sub. Our pro Lisa then creates a schedule for the session, switching up which teams play each other. This is a great opportunity to test your tennis skills against a variety of players in a fun, social environment.
Singles Night – This is on Wednesdays at 5:30pm-7:00pm. We take up to 12 players, men and women, all different levels. One of our pros will then match up the players based on like levels, to create competitive matches that will help develop your singles game. Each week we take the results so that the participants can move through the levels and get to experience play with different players the following week.
Men’s Doubles - This program is every Saturday at 8:30am-10:00am. Also known as “The Doughnut Group,” men will sign up to play doubles, it takes up to 16 men. Each week the group switches off who brings doughnuts as they will meet after a fun round of tennis to socialize over a warm cup of coffee and doughnuts. This is more of a social and fun program then the competitive Men’s Night.
Women's Doubles – (On Hiatus) This program is every Saturday from 8:30am-10:00am.
Call In – This is Saturdays from 11:30am-1:00pm. This is a mixed doubles program that takes up to 16 players, men and women, of different levels. Our pro Kathryn will create 2 sets of matches that allow you to play with and against a variety of players within the same program. It is a fun social tennis program and a great way to meet new people.
Weekly Tennis Clinics
Here at CPTC, we try to offer a variety of clinics that cover the different levels of play, along with days and times. We are always looking to change this up; so, even though these are what are offered at the moment, there is usually something new in the works – just check back in or ask the staff about what’s new.
Phil’s Skills & Drills – Wednesday nights with Phil Ansdell. For levels 3.5 and below, the class is from 7:00pm-8:30pm; this clinic is usually around 8 people. Levels 3.5 and above meet from 8:30pm-10:00pm.
Friday Cardio – Friday mornings with Chad Smith from 9:30am-10:30am. This is a fast-paced clinic that will work on your cardio along with tennis skills. Be prepared to move!
Lisa’s Skills & Drills – Fridays with Lisa Moldrem from 11:30am-12:30pm. This is a clinic that works on stroke developments, strategies, and other key skills for levels 3.5 and above.
Cups is a women’s interclub league that is offered here at CPTC that allows members to sign up on teams based on levels that will then play against teams from other local tennis clubs. These matches are held during weekdays and usually at 11:30am or 1:00pm; this runs from September through February. This is an amazing opportunity to be introduced into a social tennis community of women.
This league play is an incredible way to get into competitive tennis. You can sign up for mixed, men, or women’s leagues; and also for different age groups; it is offered all year long. Most matches are weekend evenings and you play other local tennis clubs. Besides great competitive tennis, you will also get an opportunity to socialize with fellow tennis enthusiasts. If your team does well enough, like many of our teams have, you can move onto sectionals and even nationals – come check out all of the banners CPTC teams have gained over the years!
Central Park hosts many tournaments throughout the year. These tournaments either offer chances for members to compete or watch some incredible tennis. While some fun and social tournaments are open to members (Bellevue/CPTC tournament in February; MXD in July; Club Championships in October), there are also competitive tournaments held for Juniors and adults (Northwest Washington Invitational – USTA sanctioned adult event in January; Washington State Advanced Tournament – USTA sanctioned junior event in July). Keep an eye out for what’s coming to CPTC, there’s always something in the works!
Here at CPTC, supporting the community is very important to us. Because of this, we look for any opportunity to reach out to others.
Want to mix up your tennis plans? Our club socials are the perfect way to meet other members, play tennis, and have a grand ole time! Every month we host at least a Mix Up that starts with fun tennis matches then is followed by some sort of social/dinner – we change this up each month, sometimes it’s even karaoke.
Fitness Classes & Personal Training
The Club offers classes that are designed to lose weight, prevent injuries on and off the court, build strength and endurance, and increase flexibility. Our Fitness pros, Clay and Vicki, are always looking to help our members be the best tennis players they can be. Besides group classes like Boot Camps, they also offer private personal training sessions for fitness along with Health coaching and nutritional training. Want to be the best you? They can help!
